  Frequently Asked Questions:

  1. Am I qualified to be an AIRD consultant?
    Consultants are chosen by a combination of experience, education, and skill. At a minimum, consultants should have been working in their field for 5 years, and possess and advanced degree in that field. Substantial experience working on USAID, World Bank, and other donor organization projects is very helpful. Consultants applying for specific projects should have commensurate language capability.

  2. I would like to be included in future AIRD projects, how can I become involved?
    First, submit your recent CV according to the format above. If you are applying for a specific project/practice area, include that information in your e-mail or cover letter. Someone from AIRD staff will confirm that your CV has been received.

  3. What happens to my CV once I send it in?
    AIRD staff will review your CV upon acceptance and determine if experience and education meets our requirements. All accepted CV are stored in an active consultant database that proposal administrators will consult for each incoming proposal.

  4. I submitted my CV to AIRD in the past, will I still be considered for projects?
    We maintain an active consultant database of all CVs received and accepted. To make sure that your name is included in the active list, send an updated CV regularly to the contact address.

  5. How does AIRD select consultants?
    Consultant selection is based on the individualized needs of each project. When preparing a new proposal, AIRD staff will review the qualifications of consultants in our database to fill specific staffing needs. Selected consultants will be notified and asked to confirm their interest in being submitted as part of the AIRD team.

  6. Are there opportunities for recent graduates or young professionals at AIRD?
    AIRD employs support staff consisting of Research Analysts/Assistants in addition to its more experienced Associates and Consultants. Research Analysts are generally recruited April-July. Please submit your resume at any time to jstewart@aird.com for consideration.
