Economics of Commodity Production and Trade (UNCTAD)
Preparation of training modules
AIRD senior economists Dirck Stryker, Lynn Salinger, and Daniel Plunkett prepared five training modules for UNCTAD's Virtual Institute (2005), to be introduced into economic curricula in African institutes of higher education. In 2006, Dr. Stryker co-facilitated training workshops in Tanzania and Senegal to field test the modules.
The five modules cover the following topics:
* International commodity policies: History and markets development
* Commodity market structures: Analytical methods, information, and policy
* Commodity market entry requirements
* Commodity finance and risk management for developing countries
* The international trading system and commodities
