  Global Workforce in Transition (GWIT)
USAID IQC consortium

AIRD is a member of the GWIT consortium, led by the Education Development Center. The Global Workforce in Transition IQC provides expertise and support to USAID Missions, Bureaus and other operating units in developing sound workforce development systems that support economic growth and poverty reduction and increase countries’ competitiveness in the global marketplace. (2002-2005)

Under the GWIT contract, AIRD has

* Led a workforce assessment in Morocco (2003): Morocco Workforce Development Assessment (Final) 2003.pdf

* Prepared a discussion paper on the impact of trade agreements on labor markets, and thus on the need to increase USAID's resources for workforce development-related activities (2005): Trade Adjustment Assistance for US FTA partner countries (final).pdf

* Participated in the conceptual planning and oversight of workforce assessments being conducted in Asia & Near East countries (Philippines, India, Sri Lanka, Cambodia) for USAID's ANE Bureau under its new "Jobs for the 21st Century" initiative. (2005-2006)
