Labor-Related Issues and the U.S. Foreign Assistance Framework
Cross-sectoral approach to labor rights, organizations, and markets
Through IQCs with ARD and Nathan Associates, AIRD Senior Economist Lynn Salinger is helping USAID's Bureau for Democracy, Conflict, and Humanitarian Assistance, its Bureau for Economic Growth, Agriculture, and Trade, and the U.S. Department of State's Bureau for Democracy, Human Rights, and Labor to develop a conceptual framework for thinking about labor-related issues (labor rights, labor organizations, and labor markets) in the context of U.S. government development of diplomacy objectives. Work includes country labor assessments (Cambodia, October 2007), and preparation of a field assessment guide. (2007)
